What Customers Say About ooma Hub - VoIP Phone Device with No Monthly Phone Service Bills:

I tried Magic Jack, good concept but not practical. To not buy this product because of bad customer service is a lame reason or you do not like saving money.Bottom if you want to save some cash and get a quality phone, that also comes with an extension, this is the item for you. I was on the line for some time cause I just wasn't "gettin it" he did not leave until I did, then he waited to make sure it was working properly.I love my phone, I also like sticking it to the phone company. Also about customer service how many times do you think you will be calling them.

Now that is bad service. I messed up the wires during hook-up and called (on my cel)customer service. I don't understand what the problem is with some of the comenters.I bought the ooma phone because the service from Verizon was awful.I was paying for a private number and they put my number and address in the phone book.

I waited about 4 minutes and the person helped me through the hook-up. Customer service for them was even worse than Verizon You must keep your computer on all the time to get calls.Plus after I sent it back they didn't pay the [postage theyprmised and they never took me off the internet, I still get calls into my computer through Itunes. So for the money, I put my money on this one. I was paying $79.80 per month for Verizon's terrible service.

I live alone and so not talk much plus I have a cel phone. The ooma is great, after 3 1/2 months it will be paid for, that will be next month. The quality is great you would never know you were using voip.

Can't speak to configurations such as using it with a regular phone line or plugging it into a whole-house set-up; I just didn't want to fuss with it.One important downside that I wish I had known is that even though integration with Google Voice is being advertised and touted, it is not available yet. Activated ooma 2 days ago. He took the tie to go check with someone else and email me, but no integration yet (this summer).Overall, Amazon has a pretty good price, it's a good way to access VOIP (internet phone), it's easy to set up and the quality is good. I called tech support to ask, the guy was extremely nice but wasn't familiar. Configured behind a router (rather than their preferred configuration) since I have a work VPN which doesn't always work when something is in front of the router. Sign-up is quick enough, there was a phone number in my area (I chose not to port) and physical set up was extremely easy (plug it in to electricity, plug it into the router, plug the phone in to the ooma box).

In my opinion, if you want great customer service, that cost money, and they will charge you in your bill that cost.I took out one star because some features are dependent of the HUB like 3 way calling or the answer machine, so you need to be close to the HUB, limited emails options for the voice mail(just one), no international unlimited plans like Vonage, hope they improve that, no free fax and soft phone software like Vonage to make computer calls that' why the 4 stars.Recomendation, if you call international choose Vonage, local long distance Ooma it's far better. I try calling oversees, I call long distance, and it works so I guess I recommended to anyone that understands VOIP. Hi, I just bought the Ooma hub, and I assume the Ooma phone service. I checked all the negative reviews and the positive as well, My previous experience it's with Att and Vonage and I am an average phone user that only needs the phone for mild calling and mild use phone service to be in contact with the world, I don't need 100,000 mints a month and I don't care if the customer service it's bad, try to call att or von age customer service or your regular bank customer service (by the way, I just called Ooma customer service asking a stupid question, it took me 4 min and they answered and I got satisfied).Bottom line, it's great if you need a simple phone service, lower your phone bills, and you use the phone as a regular caller, yes buy Ooma, if you are not the tech person or need directions for everything with technology, please don't buy any VOIP, keep old fasion.

I got a busy signal again. However, you better hope you don't need customer support. Ok,The good first. I can even hook up my fax macine, which is something MagicJack could not do. A little more researc on their website indicates that they are having problems with their ISP, so who know when it wil be fixed. When the service works it is very good. All I got for an hour was a busy signal. I did try calling again on another day and guess what.

Sooooo, today (04/13/2009) we are having problems with the service and their support numbers are busy again. I sent a note back expressing my complete dissatisfaction about ther response time and have never eard back since.

I tried calling them the day of the install as I had a couple of questions. Well it took 10 days to get a response on my e-mail.

The service works as advertised and the call quality is very good. (not the kind of thing you want from a "PHONE" company) Nontheless, I figured I would get a response from my e-mail in a timely manner.

As far as I am concerned their support is nonexistent.Hope this helps.RObert I give then 4 stars hereNow the not so good to down-rught bad:So I bought Ooma from Costco on-line (Sorry Amazon the deal was too good to pass up) in March 2009 with free 6 months of the premiere service.

The install was fairly straight-forward so I figured I would just e-mail support to get my question answered later.

Been waiting 5 weeks to have our phone number ported to ooma and have been getting the run around from ooma.
